Westby’s Annual Syttende Mai

Syttende Mai is an annual festival celebrating the Norwegian heritage. The festival is held on the weekend closest to May 17th. The Westby area is well known to be home to many award winning artisans and cooks too!Don't miss the lefse, rommegrot and all the fixings at several sites at the festival! On Sunday, enjoy a huge Car Show and the big annual parade at 1:30pm. See the large craft display, heritage tent, ethnic foods, car show, live music and parade.

Norskedalen's Skumsrud Heritage Farm is an open air museum with over a dozen historic buildings, each representing a different architectural floor plan used by Norwegian immigrants. The 1853 Skumsrud cabin, the oldest known surviving pioneer log building in Vernon County, is listed on the National Register of Historic Places. The site also includes a gift shop, museum and classroom. Open seasonally june through August.
